The Mayflower is often praised for its convenient location near the town and coast, making it easy to walk to the yachts and ferry. Many guests find the double rooms acceptable with sea views. Breakfast is a highlight, with a good selection of tasty options, though some have noted that getting breakfast requires reservations which was inconvenient. lovely stay near the marina

convenient location short walk coastal drives
i really enjoyed how close the hotel was to both the town and the coast. it was a short walk to see the yachts and the ferry. i found the location very convenient for exploring the area. the accessibility to both town and coastal drives was a major plus for me.
the carpets in the room looked a bit unclean . it gave me the impression that they need more attention to detail in that area. although the rest of the room was super clean, the carpets did detract slightly from the overall experience.
Service

reservation policy poor service
the breakfast was supposedly included , but i found it very difficult to actually get it. i was told reservations were necessary , and there were very few patrons in the restaurant. my suggestion to book a short time later was dismissed , which i found rather inconvenient. we chose to eat elsewhere , a much better experience elsewhere.

Acceptable stay, some disappointments

The double room sea view was acceptable.
I ordered the crabbie cakes. I only received one small cake for £5.50. The menu states cakes, so this SEEMS misleading. There was no salad garnish included either.

There were good choices and options for all dietary needs. plus, they offer a good selection of drinks, including cocktails!
i was a little disappointed by the dog amenities in the room. there was no water bowl or dog bed provided, items i've always found at other dog-friendly hotels. we did get some dog biscuits, but that was all.
